Kris has designed the lighting for Mill Productions shows, covering a broad range of works in an equally wide range of settings – from realistic to abstract worlds. The company’s Shakespeare productions have been presented in both classical and contemporary settings, while the Christmas and Summer Shows have called for something completely different – integrated in each case with the set and sound design concepts for the show.
Kris has designed lighting for all of the company’s Shakespeare productions, including Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, King Lear, Othello and Macbeth. The very different approaches presented in the productions at Christmas, and in the summer shows, have involved lighting designs and additional special effects on-stage and in the auditorium. Those shows for younger audiences have included The Twits, Fantastic Mr Fox, and James And The Giant Peach written by Roald Dahl, adapted for the stage by David Wood and directed for Mill Productions by Geoff O’Keeffe, who also wrote the Christmas shows that featured lighting design by Kris, including Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Robin Hood.
