In addition to bringing his own experience as a set designer and director to the company’s creative team, Tom has worked with set designer Gerard Bourke and director Geoff O’Keeffe to plan and coordinate the building of the sets for shows presented by Mill Productions in all genres.
He has played roles as an actor in many of the company’s productions, including Constable Warren in Our Town, Pats Bo Bwee in Sharon’s Grave, The Poor Farmer & The Bull in Tarry Flynn, John in Calendar Girls, Banquo in Macbeth, and Oswald in King Lear.
Tom joined Sandyford Little Theatre in the mid-Eighties to play the part of Tadgh in The Field, Mortimer Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace, Oliver in Da, Joe Lacey in The Year of the Hiker, Hector De La Mare in Drama at Inish, Charlie Now in Da, Jerry Devine in Juno and The Paycock, Gar Private in Philadelphia Here I Come, Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He has acted in and produced numerous productions for Sandyford Little Theatre.
Tom is currently a member of Glencullen Dundrum Musical and Dramatic Society where he has acted in and directed numerous shows including Beauty Queen of Lenane, Lonesome West, Arsenic and Old Lace, Da, War, The Hired Man, My Fair Lady, The Field, Miracle on 34th Street The Musical, It’s a Wonderful Life, One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Bookworms, Hay Fever, Calamity Jane, Many Happy Returns, and Anything Goes, to name but a few.
