Mill Productions presents a new version of Romeo and Juliet in February 2020, directed by Geoff O’Keeffe. The abridged version is an ideal opportunity to introduce Junior Cycle students to their first theatrical performance of Shakespeare drama and one that they may be studying for their Junior Cycle English exam.
The comment below, from Méan Scoil Mhúire in County Longford, is taken from their response to the 2019 production of the play and is typical of many of the reviews received.
“From start to finish it was a fast paced, high octane performance that was thoroughly enjoyable. O’Keefe’s vision for Mercutio was most enjoyed by our group as they chose to highlight the raucous aspect to his character which was fun and exciting. Students enjoyed the director’s modern music choices and costume also. Congratulations to all involved.”
